Honey was rescued from an abusive man who had the litter of puppies, but didn't care about them. When the Geauga Humane Society came to investigate a cruelty charge at his home, he was stepping all over them, screaming that they get out of his way. Luckily the Humane Investigator was compelled to take all the puppies and find them wonderful homes.
Honey was 12 years old when the vet gave their family the bad news, a tumor was growing inside her. The vet didn't feel she had much time left. Her parents couldn't stand the thought of losing her and looked to alternative treatments. They discovered es-clear, an herbal remedy that allowed her to live pain free another 2 years. Sadly, Honey died at 14 1/2 on Monday and her family is heart broken.
Her human mommy described how she looked after grandma when she was was gravely ill and dying from heart failure. Honey never left her side. Honey used to jump up on the coach and lay right on grandma's feet. She kept her warm. She used to say, "Oh Honey, that feels so good."
In the neighborhood where they used to live, Honey was the neighborhood dog. All the kids would run up to her to say hi whenever they walked her. They would ask for her paw and to do a few tricks and Honey was always willing to do it. Puppy treats or no puppy treats! She was a very special dog with a huge heart.
Honey's passing leaves a hole in the heart's of everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. She was a beautiful girl with the sweetest disposition, even with her illness. Honey Girl, you will be missed.......
