FOSTERING FOR MARILYN'S VOICE

The backbone of our organization over the years has been our dedicated group of volunteers. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are an all volunteer group of compassionate individuals working towards the common goal of rescuing, rehabilitating and ultimately adopting out the dogs (and cats) in our care. These abused, abandoned and neglected pups deserve wonderful homes, and that is exactly what they get with Marilyn’s Voice!

  • Foster homes provide love and rehabilitation for recently rescued puppy mill dogs and other dogs in need. We also foster cats on occasion. Foster parents help with vet visits, grooming appointments and more.
  • Transporters assist us in picking up dogs in need, taking them to the vet, etc.
  • Event volunteers participate in adoption events, educational events, or peaceful protests. All volunteers are encouraged to join us at these events because the more volunteers who attend, the more our voice is heard!

For more information on how You can become a member of the Marilyn’s Voice family, please email contact@marilynsvoice.org or fill out our Application below!

*I understand and agree that I am volunteering my time and services to be a Marilyn’s Voice volunteer at no cost to Marilyn’s Voice and I will not be compensated for either my time or services by Marilyn’s Voice. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR FOSTERS

Marilyn’s Voice rescues dogs and puppies from puppy mills and shelters, and many of them have special needs. They will need patience to learn to trust. For many this is the beginning of the rest of their lives, after an awful past. To our fosters, past, present and future – These lives are saved because of you. Your sacrifices, the thankless days, supporting and training other volunteers, and your overall endless compassion. This is all made possible BECAUSE OF YOU.

Tips and Information:

  • We ask that our fosters crate train the dogs in your care. Many of these dogs feel more secure in small spaces when you are not around. It also sets them up for a smooth adoption!
  • Often these dogs are NOT housebroken. We use diapers and belly bands, as well as potty training best practices
  • Marilyn’s Voice covers all medications and vet care costs. Typically you are responsible for attending vet visits with your foster dog and scheduling is coordinated accordingly.
  • Foster volunteers are typically responsible for daily items like food, treats and love.
  • We can help provide necessary supplies like crates, puppy pens and more.
  • Every dog must have a name tag with accurate contact information, and an air tag provided by Marilyn’s Voice.
  • Resident / personal dogs must be up to date on all vetting and seen on an annual basis.
  • Final placement of a dog is the decision of Marilyn’s Voice Adoption Directors, and the foster volunteer is involved every step of the way.

We are here to support and assist you with everything! We are all committed to saving the dogs, but we’ve also helped each other. Mentoring, supporting, even just a simple check in – It all matters in rescue. We have had the VERY BEST and we can only hope the sky is the limit for the future. Fostering a puppy mill dog and watching him flourish and realize the simple pleasures in life, and that cruelty is behind him is a rewarding experience. This truly is the beginning of the rest of the dog’s life!
